About The MacLomain Series- Early Years… This series focuses on characters from the original MacLomain Series who never had their romantic tale told. Upon request from readers, I’ve embarked on a journey to share those very stories. Chieftain and head shaman, Adlin MacLomain had his story told in Highland Defiance (Tale One) and now his sister, Iosbail MacLomain will have hers shared in Highland Persuasion (Tale Two). Expect Alan Stewart’s (from Fate’s Monolith and Destiny’s Denial) in Highland Mystic (Tale Three), coming June of 2013.

Well written Book 2 of the early years series by Sky Purington. I really enjoyed reading about Iosbail and Alexander's story even though I did not feel that they received the truly romantic ending that they deserved. Unfortunately both Adlin and Iosbail's story are not usual in their eventual outcomes due to their age and wizard status. They do not get their typical happy ever after. You have to read all six of the books to fully understand what I am saying so I will not give away any secrets. This story is filled with mystical elements, romance, time travel of course, and historical references. I would recommend this book along with the other 5 books of the series.Summary:
Iosbail MacLomain will do whatever it takes to bring Laird Alexander Sinclair to his knees. Even if it means she has to travel through time to eleventh century Scotland and manipulate a king into marrying her off to the enemy.
What she doesn't anticipate is a bitter rivalry between King Edgar and Alexander Sinclair. It seems the man she just married is by birthright a threat to the throne. Her plans are suddenly hindered when she and her new husband are almost murdered.

I absolutely loved this book. If you like magical romance then you will love this book. Actually you will love the whole series. It was such a unique experience.
Amazing to me that such a convoluted plot (inevitable with time travel plots, and this one has people traveling multiple times!) can all come together and work out so neatly at the end. I loved the love story and the sexual tension was great.
Another great book by Sky Purington. Once again I would tell you to read this book before you read the Box Set. Wish I had known about this book and Highland Defiance. I enjoyed reading these two books very much. There is one more after these two. Am going to search for it and read it too. -)
If you enjoy time travel stories, you will enjoy the MacLomain clan's stories. While you can read just one of them and have a satisfying story, you really should read them all to get the full benefit. Characters are interwoven and those you met and loved in another book will appear in the next. Entertaining stories that I would read again.
Really well done series . Great characters and story line. Based on two families and their stories and time travel over centuries. A lot of detail and info about life in highlands. Magic, time travel ,romance everything but unicorns! The author put a lot of her love in this series and it shows! Well done!
What an adventure! This book wasn't what I expected. There was constant travel across Scotland instead of staying in one place too long. Iosbail proved to be a fierce woman who would not let any man defeat her, mentally or physically. I liked Alexander as well. He was strong but bending. The way I see it he had no choice. Iosbail would not have accepted him otherwise. I was impressed by their perseverance. Loved the ending! So true.
Wow! This book was a mind-blowing, heart thumping fantasy thrill ride! In this second book of The MacLomain Series - Early Years - we follow Adlin's sister Isobail's romantic adventure with her sworn enemy Alexander Sinclair. Both strong willed and seeking revenge for past wrongs betwixt their two clans, they are forced by the King of Scotland to wed. When danger immediately pursues them after they are married, they are forced to work together in order to survive and keep their friends safe. See how these two vengeful, strong willed individuals break down each others defenses an unleash a true love so powerful that it won't be denied! I loved every minute of this book and eagerly await the release of the next book in this series "Highland Mystic".
